Priestley will star in a production of David Mamet's play "Race," which will be mounted as part of Canadian Stage's upcoming 2012/13 season in Toronto.

In "Race," which is slated to begin in April 2013, three lawyers - two black and one white - defend a billionaire white man accused of assaulting a black woman.

Priestley will play the role of Jack Lawson, one of the lawyers.

Among the other productions this season, during which Canadian Stage is celebrating its 25th anniversary, is "Tear the Curtain!"

Created by Siminovitch Prize-winner Kim Collier, it's a mixed-media production that has the drama bouncing between the stage and a video screen. It runs Oct. 7 to 20.

And a Canadian premiere of Swiss playwright Max Frisch's "The Arsonists," running Nov. 11 to Dec. 9, includes an original score composed and performed by Juno Award nominee Justin Rutledge.
