See You In A Few Weeks, Lindsay
by Ryan Porter
The actress has turned herself in for her 90-day jail sentence.
Lindsay Lohan surrendered at an L.A. court on Tuesday, beginning her 90-day sentence at Lynwood Women's Prison. The 24-year-old arrived in a black SUV with a police escort, and did a fierce strut up the path to the courthouse in a black jacket and sunglasses, surrounded by a crush of cameras. She arrived at 8:37 PST, seven minutes late.
The days leading up to her surrender have been filled with what she does best: drama. Her lawyer,
Robert Shapiro, quit Monday after meeting with Judge Marsha Revel. He had announced publicly that he would only represent Lindsay if she stuck to the terms of her probation. One source said he was upset by her behaviour at a sober house, where she hosted her mom
Dina, sister
Ali, ex-girlfriend
Samantha Ronson, and her personal assistant, sometimes until as late as 4 am. Her original lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, represented her at her sentencing.
"She was unruly," a source told E!. "She was having people over at all hours of the night. She acted like she ran the place." She left her home away from home around 3:30 am Tuesday morning and returned to her apartment in L.A., where she was able to spend her final moments of freedom in her shoe-hoarding sanctuary.
Lindsay commented on her impending arrest on her Twitter feed the night before. "the only 'bookings' that i'm familiar with are Disney Films, never thought that i'd be 'booking' into Jail... eeeks." Sigh, I'm going to miss those signature, wacky Lohan statements. Stay strong Lindsay! Read a book! Kick the pills! Leave the lice on the inside! Come back a changed woman!
