Like Colourful Patterned Sweaters, Cosby Will Live Forever

Save the "Ghost Dad" jokes. The 73-year-old comedian finds nothing funny about a fourth rumour he's died.

I know it's not easy getting older in Hollywood, but most actors just stave it off with facelifts. Bill Cosby, on the other hand, has resorted to calling into CNN to confirm he's still alive. He was besieged by phone calls on Monday by concerned friends and family after the phrase "Bill Cosby's died" started circulating on Twitter.

Bill says this is his fourth fake death or, as he calls it, "Lazarus IV," a term that certainly doesn't make him sound any more alive. He made it clear this trend is going on his list of things he does not find funny, right under The Simpsons.

"I don't want this person, or whatever, I don't want them to do this anymore," he told CNN anchor Kyra Phillips, who was hosting Larry King Live on Monday. He mentioned receiving distraught calls from the owner of a favourite restaurant, from Malcolm Jamal "Theo" Warner's mom, and from one of his three daughters. "I think this time... people are not amused," he said. But Kyra still asked him what he was going to say to God, so maybe some people are, some people aren't.

Bill's messages on Twitter were definitely more of the sad-clown variety. "Emotional friends have called about this misinformation," he wrote. "To the people behind the foolishness, I'm not sure you see how upsetting this is." His spirits are so low, even Jell-o is making him frown (see above).
