Someone show Katie Holmes where the cupcakes are in Toronto. There's The Cupcake Shoppe, Babycake, the Cupcakery, Frostitution. It's a city that loves its fad desserts as much as the next.

But while Kate Holmes is in the centre of the universe* starring as Jacqueline Kennedy in a History channel mini-series, she's not trusting something as important as cupcakes to the locals. The 31-year-old had a batch imported from New York City, People reports, because cupcakes just taste that much more scrumptious when you have a monstrous carbon footprint.

Katie's cupcake joint of choice is Isabelle's Curly Cakes, part of Todd English's Food Hall. The chef, Isabelle, is Todd's 16-year-old daughter. Katie ordered the red velvet and grasshopper flavour. I suppose Canadians don't traditionally consider grasshoppers a dessert topping.
