"The movie is a comedy like the TV series was. There are a lot of joyful and funny moments," Nixon told Parade magazine. "But of course we also deal with the pain of love and how you can really get hurt and how you have to try and keep your heart open even after you've been hurt."
The actress added: "We tried to show a little more maturity in the movie in the way we confront problems. Like when Miranda and Carrie fight, they back off and work it out. OK, I admit I don't show quite that much maturity in dealing with my husband played by David Eigenberg. Miranda is now an exhausted working mother with two kids. And she can be sarcastic and angry."
