The Hot Shots star is reported to have sought professional treatment after being dogged by persistent rumours that he has relapsed into alcoholism.

Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen has checked into rehab, according to reports.

The Hot Shots star is reported to have sought professional treatment after being dogged by persistent rumours that he has relapsed into alcoholism.

US reports had reported that Sheen's pals had been pressurising him to get help for his alleged boozing problem, but that he was refusing to get help.

Although the Scary Movie star’s reps have previously denied the reports, earlier today, Sheen's publicist Stan Rosenfeld released a statement that read: "As a preventative measure, Charlie Sheen has entered a rehabilitation facility. He will take some time off his series Two And A Half Men.

"He has asked that his privacy be honoured. No further statements are planned."
