Son focus of Farrah Fawcett documentary sequel

The move by Ryan O'Neal, Fawcett's partner, to make a sequel billed as a "tribute show" to the actress is expected to cop some flack, the website notes.

A proposed sequel to the late Farrah Fawcett's cancer documentary will feature her son, the troubled Redmond O'Neal, according to RadarOnline.

The move by Ryan O'Neal, Fawcett's partner, to make a sequel billed as a "tribute show" to the actress is expected to cop some flack, the website notes.

O'Neal was earlier accused of exploiting Fawcett in her final days and a court battle has soured the original film that Fawcett intended as a serious legacy. O'Neal sued the producer of the documentary, Craig Nevius, who countered with a lawsuit of his own.

Now Radar in its exclusive reports O'Neal plans to make his son, Redmond, who is in a correctional rehab facility, a major focus of the sequel and has sent out a letter requesting co-operation from potential interviewees and others. O'Neal in the letter writes: "We plan to focus on three main areas of her legacy: her art (namely her films and her sculptures), her inspirational battle with cancer; and the light of her life, our son Redmond, who is now fighting to reclaim himself in honour of his mother."

As sketchy details of the sequel emerge, the project appears more and more like O'Neal's own take on Fawcett's life and times and tragic last battle. His letter promises the film will feature Farrah’s voice from an original, never-aired 2005 interview along with footage from the couple's private collection of home movies.
