Avril Lavigne: 'Estranged husband Deryck Whibley still one of my best friends'

The 25-year-old married the Sum 41 star three years ago but she filed for divorce in 2009.

Singer Avril Lavigne has said her estranged hubby Deryck Whibley is still one of her "best friends" despite their split in October.

The 25-year-old married the Sum 41 star three years ago but she filed for divorce in 2009.

However, in a recent radio interview with KIIS FM, she said: "He's one of my best friends, and we work really well together and we stay in touch.

"I think we're very lucky. We've been friends for a really long time and we always will be family. We have a connection. Things are good. I'm really grateful for that."
